Our R&D and demonstration projects promote collaboration among our members throughout the electrical energy industry, producing impactful results that benefit the entire industry.
The project aims to showcase new technologies and digital solutions on a large scale, and to verify their effectiveness in improving the performance, efficiency and reliability of the Norwegian distribution grid. By demonstrating the feasibility of these technologies, IDE aims to estimate the potential value of a full-scale implementation into the grid.
SmartKraft is a flagship project in the hydropower industry, where eight hydropower producers collaborate to test new digital solutions for operation and condition monitoring.
Aging hydropower plants require increased maintenance, and the industry as a whole needs digitalization, standardization and automation. To tackle these issues, SmartKraft aims to develop and implement new digital tools for condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and operational optimization in hydropower plants. Reduced downtimes and better resource utilization will result in a more robust power system.
We work with our members to organize a range of activities, aimed at promoting smartgrid technologies to a broad range of audiences, students and executives alike.
Once a year, we invite industry professionals from the renewable energy sector to give lectures to students. The various lectures present the students with a broad range of topics from the industry, all related to smartgrids. We want to spark the interest of students, in order to attract the talent of tomorrow to our field.
The conference brings together researchers, academics, business professionals, and policy makers from across the renewable energy sector. Attendees get to share knowledge, network, and learn about the latest developments in the field.
Here at the Norwegian Smartgrid Centre, we want to give recognition to the innovators, the game-changers and the pioneers that help drive our industry forward. By showcasing the many innovations in the field, we can inspire others to also push the boundaries and continue to drive progress.
We organize monthly webinars, where we invite experts to give lectures on a variety of topics related to smartgrids. Most of our webinars are in Norwegian, but we occasionally feature lectures in English to cater to a wider audience. Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming webinars.
