Post-paid electricity meters are installed outside the house or apartment. Meters are read at the end of each month, after which a bill is issued. If the bill is not paid within ten days, the electricity supply is cut off.

For no charge, Baki Elektrik Shebeke can also install a meter which works with a smart card; the same application procedure applies. There is a minimum amount deposited on the card, which is then deducted as power is consumed. When there is 5.00 AZN credit left, customers are sent a text message to notify them of the balance. When there is no money left on the card, the power supply is cut off.

If a residence does not have an existing connection, go to Az?rigaz, the customer should complete an application form and pay a service fee. A technical inspection of the residence then takes place, after which Az?rigaz writes a report and the gas connection can be installed. The customer signs an agreement with Az?rigaz and receives a unique code, which is needed when paying a gas bill.

The gas supply can be temporarily cut off for safety reasons when a residence is unoccupied for a long period of time. Az?rigaz should be contacted to get re-connected.

Written notification is required to disconnect a gas supply. Once Azerigas receives it, the meter is read, any outstanding payments are collected and the meter is disconnected.

Before using the meter, it is important to turn off all gas appliances and wait for five seconds. Then, switch on the blue button, which is on the right side of the meter. A triangle sign inside the monitor displays that credit from the smart card is being used. If the alarm sign comes on, contact Az?rigaz.
