Project DescriptionSavio Solar Power Solutions P1 – Māʻili is the first large-scale solar project on the island of Oahu designed for long-term community ownership. The project was designed with the input of community members, and will provide locally-owned green power for thousands of residents.

Power will be delivered to a 46kV transmission line along Hakimo Rd by an overhead line from the PV array that connects to a new substation. The overhead line will follow the route of the existing emergency access road on the parce. This route was selected to minimize the need to see additional land rights for the interconnection facilities, and therefore expedite the overall development process. The above illustration indicates the interconnection route.

The Project will provide an efficiently maximized conceptual solar layout on lands that are currently vacant and underutilized in Māʻili and that cannot be used for certain agricultural purposes pursuant to the UA. With the selected location of the site, existing environmental conditions were also evaluated to establish a viable permitting plan for the development of the Project.

The 198-acre Project parcel is currently designated within the State Urban and Agricultural Districts and zoned as AG-2 (General Agricultural) District according to the Land Use Ordinance (LUO). Further, the Waiʻanae Sustainable Communities Plan designates the site for Rural Residential and Agricultural uses.
