*The eligibility end date of October 1, 2024, applies only to the specified zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) manufactured in countries that do not have a free-trade agreement with Canada. These ZEVs will remain eligible for iZEV Program incentives if they are already in Canada or in transit to Canada before October 1, 2024. Vehicles manufactured in Canada or in countries with a free-trade agreement will continue to be eligible for incentives. Please consult your local dealership to confirm if the vehicle you''re interested in is eligible.
If you are looking to lease or purchase a new zero-emission vehicle and would like to know whether it is eligible for the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program, please consult the list of eligible vehicles below. To help with your eligible vehicles search, you can search items on the list using the search function, including by fuel type.
This list will be updated on a regular basis; please check to make sure the car you are interested in purchasing is on the list. Please consult automakers'' websites for more precise and detailed information and specifications for the vehicles on this list.
All vehicles that appear on the list have been deemed eligible under the iZEV program, based on manufacturer''s suggested retail prices (MSRPs) provided to Transport Canada by automakers. For the purposes of this program, MSRP excludes additional costs, such as freight, delivery, and other fees. In Quebec, regulations requires merchants to advertise an "all inclusive" price, which includes these additional costs.
All fees and costs related to the purchase or lease of an eligible vehicle, such as freight and delivery charges, should be comparable to those same fees and costs for other vehicles sold by the same automaker. If Transport Canada assesses that an automaker is potentially departing from standard pricing approaches to these fees/costs, Transport Canada reserves the right to withdraw a vehicle from the eligibility list.
Only new ZEVs are eligible for the federal incentive (i.e., vehicles registered for the first time). Eligible ZEVs that are demonstrators (a demo vehicle that buyers can test-drive) are considered new vehicles and are eligible for the incentive if the odometer reads less than 10,000 km. Before including a vehicle on the list of eligible vehicles, Transport Canada has reviewed an application from the automaker and has found that the vehicle meets the iZEV Program requirements. Namely, that the vehicle is:
The Government of Canada knows that the higher upfront purchase cost of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) can make it more difficult to adopt this clean technology. The Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program is helping to make it more affordable.
The iZEV Program offers point-of-sale incentives for eligible consumers (subject to funding availability) who buy or lease an eligible ZEV. Only the vehicles listed on our website are eligible for an incentive when they''re purchased or leased for at least 12 months, on or after the eligibility date.
Note that 12-month leases will be prorated (adjusted) based on the length of a lease of 48 months. For example, a 48-month lease is eligible for the full incentive, while a vehicle with a 24-month lease will be eligible for half the incentive.
The dealership must submit the documentation required to be reimbursed for an incentive provided at the point-of-sale. Consumers cannot submit a request for reimbursement, only enrolled dealerships can.
The iZEV Program monitors the incentives limits closely. Canada reserves the right to seek reimbursement should a recipient be found to have received more than the eligible number of incentives from the iZEV Program in a calendar year.
Only carsharing companies deemed eligible by Transport Canada, based on the above-mentioned criteria, can receive up to 50 incentives per calendar year for eligible vehicle purchases or leases made on or after March 28, 2023. Eligibility, including the continuation of eligibility, remains at the discretion of Transport Canada.
