In Lakatamia, the specific areas impacted are Agia Paraskevi, Archangelos, Anthoupoli, and Agios Mamas. Meanwhile, in Strovolos, the areas currently without power are Agios Vasilios, Apostolos Barnavas, Agios Makarios, and Stavros.

Christina Papadopoulou, the spokesperson of AEK (Electricity Authority of Cyprus), confirmed the extent of the damage in these regions. She stated that restoration efforts have already commenced and the issue is gradually being resolved.

According to the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC), the affected areas include Pano Deftera, Anthoupoli, Anthoupoli Refugee Settlement, and parts of the Agios Dimitrios area in Strovolos.

The power outage, which occurred unexpectedly, left residents without electricity for several hours. The Cyprus Electricity Authority (ΑΗΚ) swiftly responded to the situation, working to restore power to the affected areas.

The cause of the power disruption remains under investigation by authorities. In the meantime, residents are advised to conserve energy and take necessary precautions until the issue is fully resolved.

With the help of wind energy, the power cuts that occurred in various areas across Cyprus on Friday afternoon due to a technical failure in the generation system that affected generation units in Dhekelia and Vasilikos stopped. Nevertheless, power generation is still at a borderline level, with the Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSOC) reiterating its call for restriction of consumption until 22:00.
