Energy Efficiency (Standards and Labelling) Order 2021 (SLO) was introduced by the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office as part of its Energy Efficiency and Conservation initiatives. This standard would require manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, and retailers in Brunei Darussalam to import and sell electrical appliances that meet consumers'' Minimum Energy Performance Standards.

Net metering is a programme that allows residential and commercial customers who generate electricity from Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system to sell excess electricity back to the national grid. Customer will receive credits to offset their electricity bills.
